Alan Siegal, together with Michael R. Kestenberg and Lorne M. Lipkus founded Kestenberg Siegal Lipkus LLP in 1988. Prior to that Alan was the youngest lawyer to be offered a partnership at his predecessor firm, Aiken Capp where he articled in 1976.
Alan is a second generation lawyer and has grown up with the law. He didn’t have a choice and neither did 2 of his children who are also lawyers.
Being the only non-litigator in a firm of nine has allowed Alan to gain great experience and insight in a vast array of business, commercial and real estate areas that perhaps is not typically afforded to business lawyers.
He finds it truly helpful to be able to advise client’s based upon what he has seen his partners deal with in court on a day to day basis.
Alan feels that a major part of his practice is to make sure that his personal clients do not meet his litigation partners “professionally” and prides himself at using his “grey beard” status to negotiate and resolve matters without litigation. He has been known to say he only feels he does a good job when he keeps the litigators away.
Alan’s style allows him to give more than straight legal advice. His clients feel very comfortable with him and use him as a sounding board on matters that lawyers typically do not get involved with and he is the first person called whenever they experience anything out of the ordinary.
To most people business/ real estate law is not friendly. With Alan his clients all know they have a friend to help them out.
